Rising Red Moon Chapter 22: A Past of Light and Dark: Kyodai’s Journey

One full day had passed, and Kyodai sat at his Desk in the Otokage building. He was busy rummaging thru some old documents that had been left behind when Orochimaru was leading the village, and he was responsible for them. They had a list of experiments, as well as other documents concerning several of the ninja that belonged to the Sound back then. He placed them down, as Konan, his wife, walked in. “Good Morning,” he said to her smiling. She walked over to him, sat on his lap, and kissed him, “Morning to you too,” she replied smiling back. Her face saddened a bit, “look before we left for here….Kirei….” She was about to say as she turned from him. “It’s alright, she is your leader, and you should do as she says,” he said to her, knowing that Kirei asked her to come back to the lair, when Kyodai and her were done with their marriage which Kirei didn’t know about then. She turned to him, “Will I see you again before it all starts,” she asked. “I don’t know, but all I know is that I love you, and I’ll always be with you,” He said. She smiled at those words he said, and kissed him, “and I love you too,” She said. She got up off him, and walked to the balcony. She made a hand sign and became several butterflies and they all fluttered away. He waved goodbye to them as they disappeared. He looked back down at the documents, “Two days,” he said to himself. He leaned back in his chair, and looked up at the ceiling. He remembered something special about today as well, and it would always be embedded in his memory forever.

Years ago, the young 7 year old Kyodai traveled down a dirt pathway, unknowingly heading to the Leaf Village. He had on a backpack, which contain two scrolls Orochimaru gave him, some books he’d found, a few ninja tools, and some stockpiles of food as well as a Sound Ninja headband. He had some tools out; he had on a black sleeveless cloak, black sleeveless shirt, black pants, and black shoes. He approached the Leaf Village gates, and glanced around taking in this site, the village his sensei hated so much, and yet he told Kyodai to come here, for what reasons he didn’t know. He walked in thru the gates, and was stopped by a Chuunin, “excuse me but what are you doing here,” he asked. “I’m seeking to be a ninja, now if you’ll excuse me,” Kyodai said without making eye contact with the person. “Well, here’s a map of the village sign ups at the academy which is here,” He said handing Kyodai a map of the village, and pointing to where the academy was. “I thank you for the assistance,” Kyodai said to the Chuunin as he ran to the academy.

He came to the Academy, and he glanced around at this structure. He jumped over a wall, and landed unknowingly in the middle of a class practicing Kunai, shuriken, and senbom needle throwing, and they was threw a barrage of them at the dummies right behind him. “WHOA LOOK OUT!!” yelled the teacher running at him. Kyodai instantly saw the ninja tools come at him, he threw his bag up in the air, and ducked down fast. He avoided all of them and he grabbed his bag as soon as it was about to hit the ground. A few of the Students, were a little freaked out by this, while the others wanted to yell at him “Idiot why’d you get in the way,” said a girl with purple like hair, crossing her arms. “Come on, Kirei, I didn’t think he knew what we were doing,” Said a boy scratching his head. Kirei turned, and glanced over to a young Itachi, and smiled. The Teacher came to Kyodai, “What were you thinking, jumping in the middle of a practice,” He asked Kyodai. “Hm…well I didn’t expect there’d be a class,” He replied, and then looked up at the teacher. “Well what are you doing here anyway,” The teacher said sighing. “I wan to be a student here,” he asked. The teacher’s eyes opened, “Well your kinda late, this is our second week, of class and you’d need to catch up on many things, and you’d need to pass an entrance exam,” Said the teacher. “Yeah, and you’d need to work on your intelligence, cause your as dumb looking as a rock,” said a student. Kyodai didn’t even make any sort of movement at the student’s words, “I’ll do it, and one more thing…” Kyodai said as he grabbed a certain number of senbom needles, and glanced at the student who insulted him. The student looked at Kyodai, “those are mine give them back,” he said walking towards Kyodai. Kirei looked at this and sighed, “Such stupidity,” she said. Kyodai threw the needles at the student; the needles went passed him, and made a perfect outline of him. The student’s eyes were shocked, as well as others, Kirei opened her eyes, and looked at what just happened, her eyes’ slightly widened at this. “Insult me one more time, and I’ll make sure that it won’t be an outline,” He said and then looked at the teacher. The teacher couldn’t believe his eyes either, “What’s your name,” he asked. “Kyodai Kaki-Saga,” Kyodai replied. “Well then, You may join our class, since you seem to have some experience,” he said. Kyodai bowed, “I thank you,” He said.

Later on that day, The class was in session in the classroom, and everyone as seated, except for Kyodai. “Kyodai take the seat in between Kirei Haruno, and Shiro,” The Teacher said pointing to the empty seat. He sighed as he sat in the seat. “class, I’m going to go do something please take a break,” he said as he walked out the door. The class started talking after the teacher left the room, and Shiro turned to Kyodai and saw the Tattoos on his right arm, “nice tattoos you have there,” He said. Kyodai didn’t turn to Shiro, “Thanks,” he said. “So…what are they…” Shiro was about to say when the Student who insulted Kyodai, and some others got in front of his seat, “Think your pretty tough don’t you,” he said crossing his arms. Kyodai didn’t answer. He reached down and grabbed Kyodai shirt, “well do YA!!” he yelled. “Oh please just leave the kid alone, besides you deserved it,” Kirei said closing her eyes getting annoyed with him. “Shut up Kirei, Now…..Kyodai’s you r name huh, well listen here, your little stunt out there may have impressed some of us, but let me tell you something I’m the best student around here,” He said. “if you’re the best, then why’d you falter when I made an outline of you with your own needles?” Kyodai asked. The Student raised his fist, about to punch him, when he was suddenly knocked back against the wall. “Don’t test me, you’ll end up regretting it,” Kyodai said as he stood over his desk, and having his fist out as if he punched him. “What the…” another student said as all eyes turned to Kyodai.

“So that’s the Newest Student,” The Hokage Sarutobi said looking at Kyodai thru the window of the door. The Teacher of the class was shocked and amazed at this, “how….How did he…” he stuttered. “Clearly the boy has had some experience as a ninja, you’ll let him join your class, and check up on his progress,” Sarutobi said walking away. “Yes…Lord Hokage,” The Teacher said.

As the Days went on Kyodai showed himself to be a great student passing all obstacles perfectly, thou he wasn’t alone, himself, Itachi, Kirei, and Shiro were among the few who were exceeding all expectations. However, rumors started spreading about Kyodai; that he’s never seen anywhere in the village, but only at the academy. One afternoon, a boy named Tenma Uchiha was walking in the forest thinking Kyodai left the Village to do something. He came upon a small training field, and saw Kyodai in the middle of the field breathing hard. He watched on, as Kyodai began to gather Lightning in his hands “What the…Lightning, Tenma said to himself as Kyodai shot it at Tenma’s direction. Tenma was overcome with fear, and was about to escape when the attack seemed to get slower, and slower, and he got away just in time. The Lightning struck trees, and Kyodai ran at Tenma, “Hey you alright,” he asked. Tenma stood up and looked at Kyodai, “Yeah, I’m fine, that was some powerful attack, it’s a wonder I was able to get away in time,” Tenma said. “You’re an Uchiha right,” Kyodai asked. “Yeah, why,” Tenma asked. “cause your Sharingan eyes are activated,” Kyodai said. Tenma was shocked, “are you serious,” Tenma yelled out and Kyodai nodded. “Wow, thanks, I’ve never been able to awaken it,” Tenma said to Kyodai. “Well I didn’t really intend for it to happen but your welcome,” Kyodai replied. The looked at each other and it was at that moment they became friends, and started training together to help better themselves as not only students but as Ninja.

Graduation day arrived, and each one of the students was excited for they all passed the exam, and were about to receive their head bands and the Teams set up. Kyodai waited patiently in the classroom where his team mates were to be located. He had already gotten his head band, and tied it around his right shoulder. His eyes were closed, and he had his arms crossed sitting on a desk. The door had opened and he looked up to see Kirei walking into the class room, she glanced at him, “oh it’s you,” she said to him, as she took her seat. He didn’t reply, he didn’t really care who is teammates were. Shiro walked in first, and then another kid named Kyoshiro Nibu, ~oh great, why am I stuck with these people~ Kyo thought to himself as he walked in the room, and leaning against the wall. Shiro himself looked at everyone, “Well, it looks like we’re a team of 4,” he said. ~four…isn’t the usually amount of genin, 3 in each team~ Kyodai thought to himself.

An Hour had passed and the door to the classroom, and a jounin level female ninja walked in. “Sorry I’m late,” She said as she stood behind the desk. “It’s alright it gives us time to ourselves,” Shiro said taking a seat. “Thanks for wasting our time, we could’ve already been training, instead you come late,” Kyo said taking his seat too. Kirei said nothing as did Kyodai. “Well, I see you guys are well acquainted, my name is Kyuuka Shizumia,” She introduced herself. “I know your Kyo Nibu, Shiro Fuyunaito, Kirei Haruno, and you must be Kyodai Kaki-Saga,” She said looking at him. Kyodai looked up at her, “So you know our names, it’s your duty as our chosen sensei, to know our names and abilities, and other things,” He said. “well, meet me outside in the training field area B-34,” She said teleporting away. Kyodai held his head, ~ugh……what the hell~ he thought to himself, as he himself got up, and jumped out the open window. Everyone else walked out the regular doorway.

He got there before anyone else, and lay down in the middle of the grassy training field. He stared up at the sky, and fell almost asleep waiting for his team to get there. As soon as Kyo, Shiro, and Kirei got there Kyuuka appeared. “Alright, before we begin, I’d like for everyone to get better acquainted with each other,” She said. Shiro stood up first, and introduced himself with a somewhat detailed description, Kirei a not so detailed, and Kyo even less. “Okay, Kyodai now tell us some things about yourself,” Kyuuka said. “My Name is Kyodai Kaki-Saga, my likes and dislikes: none of you business, my abilities: you’ll find out for yourself when we do missions, A Goal: Don’t really know, and I wouldn’t tell anyone even if I did have one, as in a summary of my history: not telling you anything concerning my past,” Kyodai said with looks of uncaring. “Well…uh…okay, Kyodai,” Kyuuka said. “Well aren’t you the nice one, we gave somewhat of a description of ourselves, at least tell us something about you,” Kirei said looking at him. “Since when was it my obligation to speak of personal matters, and my abilities when clearly you’ll see my abilities in the field, my likes and dislikes will be exposed eventually, just be patient,” He told her not even looking. ~oh great another bunch of happy teammates working together~ Kyuuka thought to herself sarcastically.

As days turned into months, and months turned into a few years, their team progressed rapidly, even making Chuunin within a year, and they had all made Sp-Jounin level, which was when the team was disbanded. Even thou they were all friends then, and Kyodai was friendlier to them, he still kept most things to himself. Still some didn’t get to see Kyodai abilities with Ninjutsu. He was busy training himself in a field, and he was about to take a break when he looked over, and saw a hail of Kunais, falling to him. He jumped out of the way. “What the…” He said as he turned to look at his attackers, there was fairly a large group of them, and he looked o their shoulders to see the KS tattoo of the Kaki-Saga family. ~what the…they shouldn’t even be here~ he thought to himself. “Kyodai, you’ve betrayed our family, and for that you must die,” said the center figured. Several of them charged around, and tried to encircle him. He got battle ready, he may have been twelve years old at the time, but he was fairly confident in his own abilities. Some of them charged in at him, but only to be impaled by a Kunai knife he had. More of them attacked him, and were quickly dispatched by Kyodai’s speed, which was faster than normal.

Moments passed and Kyodai was still surrounded by the large group of ninja that was his family. “HALT!” yelled Kirei’s voice as she, Kyo, and Shiro, appeared to his aid. “Well you guys sure picked the fine time, to arrive,” Kyodai said. “Yeah, well, we just got word of this, and the Hokage is sending others with us,” Kirei said. “Why are you helping him,” asked one of the Kaki-Saga. “Cause he’s our friend, and we won’t let you harm our friends,” Shiro said. Just then Sarutobi appeared, “Every Leaf Ninja is family to each other, and they would all die to protect their family,” Sarutobi said. “Well that “family Member” has already betrayed one family, and he’ll do it again,” said the Kaki-Saga assassin. Kyodai shook at those words, and the others noticed this. “He almost killed his own brother and sister, just to test out the power he has, he’s a monster,” said the Kaki-Saga. Kyodai felt those words he experienced back in his childhood, come back, monster, demon, the beatings, the insults, everything he experienced was coming back in full force. “He’s a DEMON!” Yelled the man. Kyodai looked at him, ~…demon…~ he thought to himself. ~do as you please Kyodai~ Hogosha-Chi said to him. ~yes…I will~ Kyodai said to him.

Kirei looked at Kyodai, “Is this true,” She asked. “It’s all True, Kyodai is nothing more than…” He was about to say when Kyodai shot a massive lightning bolt thru him. Kyodai arms were sparking violently, his arms starting to show Lightning in them, and his eye had lightning in them, as he smiled. Just as Kyo, Shiro, and Sarutobi were about to look at what he just did, he charged with lightning fast speeds and reflexes, and killed a few others of his family. “What the…Kyodai…this is your power,” Sarutobi asked looking at this. “Everyone get him, he mustn’t be allowed to use his other jutsus,” said another Kaki-Saga, and they were all prepared. Kyodai turned to them, and smiled as he bit his thumb, and placed the blood on the tattoo on his lower left arm. Sarutobi looked shocked at what the tattoo looked like, “it cannot be,” he said. Kyodai made some hand signs, and smashed his hand on the ground, “Summoning Jutsu,” He said a puff cloud of smoke appeared. “Summoning,” Shiro said looking at the cloud. “FALL BACK!” Yelled one of the Kaki-Saga as a giant snake appeared and chomped down on him. Shiro, Kyo, Sarutobi, and Kirei’s eyes widened. There had been two other snakes summoned, so he summoned three. They all went after the Kaki-Saga smashing them down with their tails, chomping them, and eating them.

There was only a few of them who broke their legs, and were on the ground, and the snakes puffed away. Kyodai walked up to one of them, he looked down at him, anger in his eyes, and he pulled out a Kunai and stabbed him in the throat. “Kyodai that’s enough,” Sarutobi yelled out to him. “it’s…not enough….it’s…not enough….IT’S NOT ENOUGH!” He yelled out and a purple chakra tail popped out. His eyes became glowing red, with a black slit, as purple chakra enveloped him. Sarutobi looked at Kyodai shocked at this, “He…He…isn’t,” Sarutobi said stuttering. Kirei, Shiro, and Kyo were speechless at this point; they didn’t know how to react to this new discovery. He looked at them, as he calmed down the tail was slowly fading. ~crap now they know, I let my anger get the best of me~ he thought to himself as the purple chakra faded, but the eyes remained the same. “So when were you planning on telling us about this,” Kirei asked crossing her arms. “Actually, never,” He replied. All was silent after that, and the Hokage ordered Kyodai to return to his home, and not to leave the village until they would get some things straightened out.

Days had passed, and Kyodai sat in his room in the Leaf Village, wondering on what will happen after the incident. He wondered for a bit, when Daiji came to him. The small snake crawled thru a window; ad swayed his head on his bed. “Kyodai-sama, they’re planning on questioning you,” Daiji said. “Tell me something I don’t already know, Daiji,” Kyodai said sitting up. “They’ll interrogate you, and probably place you under some jutsus to get yourself to talk about how you’re connected with Orochimaru,” Dajij said. ~go to the Leaf, and learn what you can, after that, do what you want~ those words Orochimaru said to him that day still rang in his head. He got up, grabbed his pack, and put the scrolls and all his equipment in it. He opened his door, locked it, and slowly but surely made his way out of the village. Upon exiting the village, he started running thru the forests, and found his way to a field. Just as he entered the field he jumped into the air, and a Lightning bolt struck him, and he was gone, he teleported himself to a far away place, never to be seen again.

At the Village, Sarutobi went up to Kyodai’s door; with him were Kirei, Kyo, and Shiro. Sarutobi’s eyes widened as he looked at the door, “No….” He said to himself. Kyodai had left his Leaf Headband behind, and on the Leaf Symbol he scratched through it. This meant to everyone that he was no longer affiliated to the Leaf Village and would be a missing ninja.

As time went on, Tenma Uchiha left the Village himself to search for Kyodai; he made it out before the Uchiha Massacre even started. And Kyodai made it his goal to destroy the Kaki-Saga family. And he trained like never before to achieve that goal, and nothing was going to stop him. Months became years, and He met with several individuals, like Tobi/Madara, who wished to see this happen, and Kyodai gained more allies for his plans to proceed even further.

With the Flashbacks over, Kyodai opened his eyes. He wasn’t at his office or at any known location. It was Also a brand New day. “Yesterday, it was Ten Years ago, I left the Leaf Village, and it was two to three years before that, I joined the Leaf, and now…” He said as he and several Sound ANBU units, looked upon a large city. There was a large central tower, and the city expanded over a mile, filled with thousands of people. “Now, I stand in view of the Great City, Dedokoro Za Katei, it is here that the Last of the Kaki-Saga Family, gathers to defend this place, and it is here that all those years of training and planning, that will all come together here,” Kyodai said to himself. Tenma approached him, “Kyodai, we’re in position,” He said to his friend. Kyodai turned to Tenma, “I’ll give the Signal, a few of the ANBU unit MUTE and I will infiltrate the city itself to survey their defenses, I can’t guarantee your safeties,” Kyodai said. Tenma placed his hand on Kyodai’s shoulder, “Kyodai, we promised to stand for each other, and give our lives for each other, and that I plan on keeping,” Tenma said with a smile. Kyodai smiled back, and placed his hand on Tenma’s shoulder, “I thank you,” He said turning back to the city. “Everything is set,” Kyodai asked Kabuto who was at his side. “Yes, Lord Kyodai, our units are well hidden, and we’re ready for your signal,” Kabuto said. “Alright, units on me, let’s go,” Kyodai said as he and several of the MUTE ANBU units ran after Kyodai. ~it all comes down to this~ he thought to himself as he approached the gates in a disguise.
