Rising Red Moon Chapter 15: Assault: Leaf Village Under Attack!

It was already Noon time in the Leaf Village. Naruto and Shiro ran down the hallway heading to Tsunade’s office. “Get out of the way,” Shiro yelled at all who was in the hallway. “Shiro how bad will it get if he’s in the Village,” Naruto asked Shiro. “Let’s say that if he’s in the Village, whether he’s with Kirei or not, he can do some damage to us,” Shiro answered. “What if he’s somewhere else,” Naruto asked. “Then we’ll have to warn our allies that we’ve lost contact with him,” Shiro answered. Naruto didn’t say anymore and they continued running.

They both arrived at the door that led to Tsunade’s office. Shiro opened the doors, and they both went inside, and shut the door behind them. Tsunade sat at her desk, Shizune at her right-side, while Jiraiya was at her left leaning on the window sill. Kakashi stood on one side of the room; he turned around to see Shiro and Naruto. Hinata stood up from a chair she was sitting one, while Sakura was standing. Shiro and Naruto took a few hard breathes, before they stood up firmly. “Jeez, you two were almost late, its good thing you made it here in a hurry,” Tsunade said. “We’ve got a more important matter to discuss,” Shiro said walking to the desk. “What is it,” She asked. “A few hours ago, I encountered Pein and Tobi in the woods, they were looking for someone, and this time it wasn’t Naruto,” Shiro said. Everyone’s eyes widened at this news. “Wait if they weren’t after Naruto then who can they be possibly e after now” Shizune asked. “My guess is that Kyodai left the Akatsuki, because Kirei wouldn’t have sent them to look for someone who wasn’t important to the Akatsuki, or a personal friend of Kirei’s,” Shiro said.

“If your hunch is correct, where would Kyodai go, he is widely known in the Villages, and if he were to go to any of the villages they’d immediately mobilize against him or ask for aid,” Kakashi said. “Kyodai would certainly wish to hide some where in a village, a place where it wouldn’t draw a whole lot of attention, but yet he’ll be able to do whatever he wants,” Jiraiya said. “It may have been recently that he would’ve left, so it would take awhile for him to travel to any of the other villages,” Sakura put in.

Tsunade looked at Shizune, and nodded. Everyone looked at her seeing this, “What do you know,” Naruto asked. “It was confirmed that Kyodai left the Akatsuki, just yesterday, a reconnaissance team of ANBU found him and the Akatsuki about 5-7 miles away, Kyodai left the group, and The ANBU immediately came back to the Village and told me, which led me to believe that something happened and Kyodai might come here to the village, which explains why I had the ANBU and special Jounin patrolling the rooftops an alleyways of the Village,” Tsunade said. “As of now there have been no reports on his whereabouts,” Shizune said. “And so far ever since he appeared in the Village a few days ago, he hasn’t appeared back at all,” Tsunade said.

Naruto gulped, and he looked around nervously. Sakura and Hinata both looked at Naruto; they remembered how Kyodai visited them in the Village of the Mist. Tsunade looked at Naruto, Sakura and Hinata. “He’s visited you three hasn’t he” She asked. All eyes went upon to the three. “Only in the Mist Village, but that was it,” Sakura said. Naruto was silent; he felt he should tell them about Kyodai meeting him more than just once. But he kept his mouth shut; he remembered that Kyodai told him not to mention that he visited him.

“What’d he say to you three,” Tsunade asked Hinata, Sakura, and Naruto. “All he wanted us to do is head to the Land of Snow, but Shiro told us to not go, so we came back here,” Sakura said. “Did he say anything about the ruler of the Land of Snow,” Jiraiya asked. He wasn’t there when Kyodai asked this of them, so he was curious, as was Kakashi. “No, he didn’t say anything about Koyuki,” Sakura said, remembering the name of the princess. “Alright, I’ll send a few team of ANBU to the Village to find out why Kyodai asked this of you, for the mean time stay in the village, you may leave,” Tsunade said.

With that said Naruto, Hinata, and Sakura left the room. When the door closed shut Tsunade stood up and walked to the window. “You think it was a trap,” Jiraiya asked. “We still have very little information we can only guess, and hope that we’re right,” Shiro said leaning against the window sill looking out the window. “If we wait then we maybe too late to act, and if we take action we won’t know how to stop Kyodai, since he pretty much has been in the dark all this time,” Kakashi said. “And let’s not forget the Akatsuki; if they’re looking for him, then his list of allies has grown extremely thin,” Shizune put in. “I’ve knew Kyodai when he was here, it was a short time, but during that time, I found tat out numbered, he can turn a bad situation into one that he could win,” Shiro added. “Well then I guess we prepare for him to make a move, and hope that we’re prepared for it,” Tsunade said looking out the window at the Leaf Village.

At the Tavern, a crate fell on the groundbreaking open and out came out several strange devices. “You clumsy oaf, be more careful” yelled the Bartender yelling at the person who dropped the crate. The devices were shaped like a compass, and same size. There was also a point and around the compass was a line; it would allow the point to move around the compass. In the center of the compass was a number dial, but it was turned off, so it didn’t show anything. The person quickly picked up as many as he could carry and put them in another crate. He continued t put them in another crate; when Kyodai jumped down to the floor.

“I’m terribly sorry, Kyodai, you just can’t good help these days,” The Bartender said apologizing. “So long as everything is ready it doesn’t matter……so has the word spread across the village,” Kyodai asked. “Yes, all of our people know of what we’re going to do this night,” The Bartender said. “Very good, if everything goes according to plan, there will be very little civilian casualties,” Kyodai said. “Yes,” The bartender said agreeing with him. Kyodai looked down at a compass, and he picked it up. “So are these the trackers that were specifically crafted thru my designs; they’re a little bigger than the original design, but they’ll still be functional when the time comes for them to be of use, right?” Kyodai said looking at the Bartender. “Yes, they will be fully functional,” He answered. Kyodai handed the tracker to the person who dropped them, and he put it in the crate and went away with it. Kyodai jumped again back to the horizontal beam and opened the hatch that lead to a small tower of the tavern that had the accommodations of a home. He sat down on a chair and stared out the window looking at the village.

Time, it seemed to slip away fast. As the sun set the moon rose. Naruto and Hinata were on another Date. This time was different, instead of the usual eating at Ichiraku Ramen, Naruto decided on treating Hinata to a restaurant. The place was fancy, and expensive, but worth it to Naruto. If it made Hinata happy then Naruto didn’t care how much he’d have to spend. They each took their time eating, and when they finished Naruto paid for the food, and they went on their way. They were walking towards the Hyuuga Clans palace. Hinata rested her head on Naruto’s shoulder, and he rested his head on hers.

They stopped at the entrance of the Hyuuga Palace. Hinata turned and kissed him on the lips. Naruto wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him. They stopped and looked each other in the eyes. “Hinata, get in here,” Neji called from the deck. They both blushed heavily, but Naruto let go, and Hinata walked a few steps back. “Goodnight Hinata,” Naruto said. “Goodnight Naruto,” Hinata said. With that said Naruto turned and walked down the street to his apartment. Hinata walked to the palace, she stopped and looked up at the sky. The stars were slowly appearing, there was very little cloud coverage, and the sun was almost about to be fully set, and the moon fully risen. She looked at the door and walked inside.

Sakura was walking in the streets; she parted from Naruto and Hinata when they went on their date. She met with Ino, Kiba, and Rock Lee as she walked. They had to go their separate ways however, leaving Sakura alone. She continued to walk, as the street lights went up and they lit up the streets.

The Night life began, and everyone as out doing their business or entertainment. Sakura moved to the side of the street as to avoid most of the public, so they wouldn’t bump into her. She looked up at the sky, and saw that a Member of the ANBU was landing at the alleyway she was about to go past. When she looked at the ANBU several other figures appeared and confronted him. She stopped to watch, when a man bumped her into the alley. “We’ve got ourselves a spy, boys,” Said the man pushing her into the alley more. They all turned to her, and Sakura caught Glimpse of what appeared to be a KS tattoo on their arms, including the man who was pushing her. She immediately turned around and was about to punch the guy pushing her into the wall. But he grabbed her arm, and she felt her chakra leaving her. The Man laughed as green chakra appeared and was absorbing her chakra.

Two Men grabbed her by the arms and dragged her. She attempted to free herself but they too were absorbing her chakra. They held her against a wall, and a few of them laughed. “Why are you doing this, I’ve done nothing wrong, but keep it up it’ll be the last thing you do,” Sakura said. “You were spying on us; we’re obviously not letting you live to tell anyone what you’ve seen here this night,” said one of the men. The one in ANBU outfit pulled out his Katana and was about to strike Sakura when the Katana was pulled out of his hand. Everyone looked up to see where the Katana went.

“Picking on a girl who just happened to find you meeting,” said a figure holding the Katana. “You……..It can’t be, you’re here Kyodai,” said the dressed ANBU. Everyone there turned pale white, Kyodai was sanding right there. Kyodai jumped down, and threw the Katana at the ANBU. It went thru him, and he fell down dead. He landed on the ground and he swung himself in a circle swinging his Dai-Katana. All of Sakura’s captors were slashed and they fell down dead.

Kyodai stood up and attached the Dai-Katana to his back and he looked at Sakura. She looked at him, “Why’d you save me,” she asked confused. Kyodai closed his eyes, “Because you’re not my enemy, your friends never were my enemies, I was merely misleading you all to think I was,” Kyodai answered. Sakura’s eyes widened, “then why didn’t you say so,” she asked. “My enemies would go underground and be nearly impossible to root out again, if an entire Village became my ally, but when rumor spread about me with the Akatsuki my enemies, quickly exposed themselves,” Kyodai said. There was silence; the bustling village seemed to be drowning out at by the silence, but there was no change they both heard the bustling village. “So why are you here then,” Sakura asked. Kyodai opened his eyes at her, and pushed on of the bodies aside with his foot. “To kill those of the Kaki-Saga, who have infested this village,” Kyodai said smiling. Sakura looked at Kyodai, her eyes widened, “Why would you kill those of your family,” she asked. “That’s my business alone,” Kyodai said. Kyodai’s eyes suddenly changed, they were becoming slitted, and his eyes bright red, and he started to laugh. “Then take it outside the Leaf Village, we don’t want to lose our friends, here,” Sakura pleaded to him. “Some of the Leaf Shinobi bare the Kaki-Saga tattoo, ANBU, Jounin, Sp-Jounin, Chuunin, Genin, even those in the Academy, as well as civilians,” Kyodai said.

“KYODAI!!” Yelled a voice from on top of a building. Kyodai looked up and saw a member of the ANBU, he looked closer and saw he too had the KS tattoo. The ANBU showed a great deal of fear, and he was about to turn around and flee. But Kyodai immediately jumped up and stabbed the Kaki-Saga ANBU. Sakura ran out of the alleys into the main street pushing and shoving her way thru. ~I’ve got warn everyone~ she thought to herself running. Kyodai immediately jumped up high in the air, and his body started to glow a bright red, and his arms and legs emitted fire.

Naruto looked up and saw a bright red Light in the middle of the sky, “What is that,” he asked. The light started getting brighter, and brighter.

Tsunade, Shiro, Jiraiya, and Kakashi, who we’re still in the Hokage’s building, saw the light aswell. “What going on,” Asked Jiraiya. The Light got bigger and brighter. “I have no idea,” Shiro answered.

Kyodai crouched in a ball, and yelled out in a loud demonic voice, “FIRE STYLE: STEAMS OF FLAME!!” Kyodai then immediately uncrouched and several streams of fire shot out from his body and went for certain people al across the Village. Screams of terror followed at what was happening. The people of the village were now in total chaos. Kyodai killed at least 20 of his family in that one attack. He then turned normal again.

Smoke slowly began to fill the sky as buildings caught fire and several explosions were heard. “Lady Tsunade!” yelled an ANBU charging in. “What’s going on out there, who’s attacking,” Tsunade said demanding to know. “It’s Kyodai and a large group of people with ninja skills, they just came out of nowhere, and now we can’t mobilize our forces quick enough,” responded the ANBU. “What but how,” Shiro asked. “We don’t know yet, but we’re trying to mobilize, but it seems Kyodai has the upper hand in this, we don’t know how many of his forces are attacking,” added the ANBU. “Well then get out there and defend the village,” yelled Tsunade. The ANBU immediately disappeared, and Tsunade looked to the others, “We must protect this Village, let’s go,” She said and everyone teleported away to help the defense of the Village.

Some Miles away the Akatsuki were all having their meeting. Kirei stood up right next to Itachi, Deidara and Konan were close to each other as well, while the others were all scattered around in a circle. “No one found him,” Kirei said in disappointment. “He must be miles away by now, no way we can catch him,” said Tobi. “Well I guess we need to move on without him,” Deidara said. “So we should get started on how are going to get Naruto,” Kisame said. “Yes we…..” Konan was about to say something when she saw the sky in the direction of the Leaf Village. Kirei looked to where Konan was looking and she saw the large pillars of smoke. Everyone else saw this as well. “What is going on,” Tobi asked. “It’s coming from the Leaf Village,” Itachi said. “Might as well go check it out, Itachi, Konan, and Deidara come with me,” Kirei said. They all nodded and the four jumped into the woods going in the direction of the smoke. Everyone else went into the hideout, and sealed the door shut.

Minutes had passed, and Kirei and her team were about to see the Village. When the saw the Village, they all immediately stopped and their eyes were widened at what they saw. Buildings set a flame, screams of terror and death heard from the village, and smoke rose from the burning buildings that would put fear into the hearts of many. “….The….Leaf Village,” Said Kirei taking in what exactly she was seeing. They were all silent. “who could be doing this,” Konan asked. A laugh was heard in Kirei’s head ~he’s going thru with it after all~ Suzaku said. ~what do you mean, who~ Kirei asked. ~your friend, Kyodai, he’s causing this, and he there in the Village~ Suzaku answered. “Let’s go,” Kirei said heading to the village. “Wait Kirei, why go,” Deidara asked. “we still need to get Naruto, and something’s telling me that Kyodai is here, and the confusion of the Village would allow us to slip in and out without be noticed too much,” Kirei said. “alright,” Deidara said. They all jumped down into the village.

Naruto was running thru everyone, hoping to find Hinata. If he somehow found Neji he might be able to know where she was, but if he found her then he’d protect her. As he continued to run, he drew closer to the Hyuuga mansion, and as he caught closer he noticed that the destruction didn’t reach here. His hopes became high because it meant the nothing happened here yet. He just arrived at the entrance to find that all of the Hyuuga Guards were protecting the mansion. Hiashi Hyuuga paced himself back and forth in the front yard waiting for something. He tuned and saw Naruto, “It’s good to see your okay, Naruto,” Hiashi said. Naruto was confused; Hiashi said something nice to him. “Do you know what’s going on out there,” he asked Naruto. “I don’t know, one second everything was alright, and then all of a sudden the Village was under attack,” Naruto answered. “Well then you’re welcome to stay here, if you want to,” Hiashi said. “No, if I’m going to b Hokage some I have to protect the village,” Naruto said. Naruto looked over and saw Hinata who was smiling at him. Naruto checked his headband, waved to her, and jumped away. ~I’ll protect the Village even if it costs me my life, and I’ll protect you, Hinata~ he thought to himself.

Kyodai was in the Village center looking at the tracker dial in his hand. The numbers on the thing were going down; it was at 450 when the operation started which meant there were 450 of his family in the village, now it was nearly at half. He smiled, everything was going according to plan, he had some of the men, stay at the gates and make sure none escaped this attack. ~I need to end this now ~ Kyodai thought as his body began glowing red again and the fire appearing on his arms and legs. His eyes became a fiery red, and the flames on his body grew bigger. The fire, then engulfed his entire body, and a large pillar of fire shot out from around him and went into the sky.

Deidara was flying on one of his clay birds, when he looked down, and he saw the pillar of fire shoot up at him. The bird quickly dodged, and he looked down at the source. ~who could have the power to maintain such a large pillar, and what could this be for~ he thought to himself as he flew down, and landed on the ground. The bird flew up into the air and exploded as a fire stream went thru it. He ran into an empty alleyway, and waited. In moments Kirei, Itachi, and Konan appeared before him.

“Idiot why’d you fly up into the sky; are you trying to give away our presence here,” Kirei said. “Sorry, I wanted to see if I can find any of our targets, but I ended up having to come down here, due to that,” Deidara said pointing to the Pillar of Fire. “What is that,” Konan asked. “I don’t know” Deidara said. They looked on, and saw that lightning was going to the top of the pillar. When the lightning reached the top of the pillar, several bolts of lightning shot at random spots all across the Village. Screams were heard and those screams were followed by explosions. “What kind of technique was that,” Kirei asked. The pillar of fire and lightning slowly went down and Kirei slowly moved to see who or what started that.

Shiro appeared on a roof top right in front of the Pillar that was going down, he too wanted to know what caused it too. Thou he didn’t now Kirei and was on the other side of the Pillar. The Pillar disappeared and in its place was Kyodai. ~Kyodai, so he is here~

Kirei saw Kyodai as well ~so you were right; he is behind this attack~ she spoke to Suzaku. Suzaku didn’t reply thou. “Kyodai, why would you do this,” She said to herself.

“It’s nice to find us three together again,” Kyodai said putting his hands in his pockets. He stared forward, but he could see at the corners of his eyes Kirei and Shiro. Kirei and Shiro looked at each other then back at Kyodai. “Why are you doing this, Kyodai why are you attacking the Leaf Village,” Shiro asked jumping down to the ground. “Why….because my enemies have infiltrated this Village, as well as the other Villages, I’m merely getting rid of them all,” Kyodai answered. “So killing hundreds is going to solve that, why can’t you talk with them,” Shiro said. “Because Calen, and Maki won’t listen, they want me dead anyway,” Kyodai said. He pulled out the dial, and it read that only 1 was still left and it pointed directly at him. He then made a few hand signs. “Kyodai you’re not leaving us again,” Kirei said to him. Black Clouds started to form above the Village, thunder roared and lightning struck the clouds. It then began to pour rain, and the fires slowly died down. ~huh, what, why is he putting out the fires~ Shiro asked himself. Kyodai made a few more Hand signs, and he looked at Kirei, Itachi, Konan, and Deidara, and sighed. He made an additional set o hand signs, and Lightning struck all five of them, and in their place was nothing.

Naruto came running at Shiro, he was covered in water, and soot. Naruto had been doing a lot during this attack. He stopped, and held his knees, inhaling and exhaling. “Curse him, what is he planning,” Shiro said too himself. Then he leveled his face in fear, “Wait he said all the Villages have his enemies, then that must mean…………..The Cloud Village,” Shiro said as he turned around. “I’m sorry Naruto but I’m leaving, to go to my Village, Stay here and help the Leaf Ninja rebuild,” Shiro yelled as he was going out of sight. Naruto sighed a bit, and he looked at the destruction. He was however to believe that none of his friends were hurt, and the Village wasn’t completely destroyed, and those things warmed his heart. He stared up at the raining sky, feeling that Kyodai is a good person at heart, since he helped put out the fire with this rain.

In the forest, Five Lightning bolts struck the earth, and when the dust cleared Itachi, Kirei, Deidara, Konan and Kyodai were all in their places. “Huh, how’d we…...” Kirei said looking around confused. Kyodai started coughing hard, and began puking blood. They all turned to him, and he was crawling away, breathing heavily, and coughing up blood. Deidara placed his foot on Kyodai’s back, “And where do you think your going,” he said. A purple tail shot out from behind Kyodai and whacked Deidara off of him. Deidara stumbled a bit, “Why you…” he said getting angry. “Enough, as you can see he’ll still fight, even in the condition he’s in,” Kirei said. Kyodai still crawled, but he slowly stopped; his strength to move was leaving him and he lay on the ground, bleeding out of his mouth. ~damn, that took too much out of me~ Kyodai closed his eyes. “So what shall we do with him,” Itachi asked. “I’ll need to ask him what’s going on, so for now he’s a prisoner,” Kirei said. ~Sorry Kyodai~ she thought to herself as she looked at the almost unconscious body of her friend.
